FIRST Seek the ‘Intersection’
First, see the problem from the other point of view ; really seek FIRST to understand!
Second, identify the ‘Intersection’ ( i.e., where the ‘positions’ clearly overlap ).
Finally, select ONE issue at a time from outside the ‘Intersection’ to discuss and resolve. Select the issues that are ‘closest’ to the ‘Intersection’ and work ‘outwards’ from there : alternating between ‘their position’ and ‘your position’.
